Dear Sir/Ma'am, Good Day! This is with regards to your request for trouble shooting of your wireless router. Our record shows that your existing package for myDSL is PLAN 999. Please be advise that myDSL plan 999 is applicable for one pc/workstation only. If just in case you install additional equipment in your PC, please be inform that trouble shooting should be done by your own computer technician (customers responsibility). For any technical inquiry you may call our technical support at 172. Thank you, Malou Molino PLDT Home DSL
---- below is a letter i am sending PLDT: ---- Dear Ms. Molino,
Your reply had been totally unhelpful, as i have had this information since March-April. I had been inquiring about an upgrade of plan to be able to use my router, which i had stated verbally during my application at the PLDT office last Feb.
It should not be a concern of PLDT whether or not I share my DSL connection within my household without having to go through the extent of sharing pcs/laptops when there is an abundance of them here. if my own upstream/downstream connection suffers because of this, that will be my responsibility. Why should it matter that i will share my connection within 2-3 computers? Why insist i get a 3,000 peso plan? Tell me, can you personally afford this with your salary? Only Class A people can afford this (or businesses that make use of computers because they do need it to make money). That is an exorbitant fee to ask from middle class people.
The problem the way i see it, and why its been infuriating and futile lately to converse with any of you from PLDT, is the fact that you dont even know what you are talking about. You dont even know what you are selling. Each one of you have given me different answers , theories even, with regards to why the router doesn't work with your line. Its funny that i got to talk to a supervisor named Ms. Vina, who had to keep putting me on hold to confer with the tech team before she could give me any kind of answer.
No, it is not the problem of my router, as i have bought what is considered the most reliable brand in the states & I have been successful in hooking up one of these there without hassle last year at my sisters house. I had, since March, asked for IT assistance from my IT friends , as well as your PLDT IT people. NO ONE was able to hook up the Linksys with your PLDT connection. Suffice it to say, i had to draw my own conclusion into thinking that it was your service and your new technology that disabled me from using my router.
You cannot tell me that i should be able to troubleshoot my router and make it work, because you would be contradicting your first statement that your 999 plan is strictly for one computer use only. My friends and I, who have been duped into applying for such expensive service, have somewhat given up on the idea of wi-fi until someone offers a better deal than you.
My family and friends in the states are laughing at my current dilemma, they expect Filipinos to be opportunists such as yourselves at PLDT. They have called your service: JOLOGS.
Technology is running at top speed. We have all these laptops, PDAs, routers at our disposal. Why not use it? Think you'll be there in the future? Not if all your subscribers leave you first.
Sincerely, Mutya Bose
 | Good one. We were an early adopter of PLDT's DSL way back in 2001. Cut it after a year.
"The most secure computer in the world is one that is not connected to the Internet. That's why I recommend PLDT DSL." |
 | LOL. jologs kase neighborhood namin kaya it wasnt available at first and then it was, and then it wasnt kase kulang na ng lines, etc etc. I had to wait more than 6 weeks to get hooked up in the first place. these @#$% are killing me! |
 | aw man. hope you find a solution! |
 | "mgabwakananginakayo!" That's an understatement! Your letter is quite good, you took the words right off my mouth! I've been having problems with them too with my clients, especially the personal plans... Their pushing you to upgrade to their business plan! Methinks its high time to switch to either cable (Destiny, Bell Tech) or SKY DSL (BayanTel), I'm still asking some of my clients who has them to give me feedback! |
 | Go go go! Fight fight fight! I so *HATE* them too!!!! Have you ever heard of a DSL connection that gets cut off when someone uses the telephone line (incoming AND outgoing!)?? Well, thats my PLDT-DSL story... Lousy talga! Gaad, twas so bad! Am with you here, go mutch!! ;) |
 | grabe yang pldt dsl service talaga.. my sister was an independent contractor then for a company abroad.. grabe super unreliable ang service.. tuloyyy hindi makasubmit on time yung sis ko dahil parating nawawalan ng connection.. there was a time na nawalan pati telephone service nya though on time ang payments nya.. she reported that sa phone(shempre office sa phone nya ginamit nya to report ehehe), she reported it by email, and meron pang physical letter --registered mail) nakuuu nag response na they will look into it chuvah.. tapos after a month and a half eh binigyan sya ng disconnection notice??? imagine that?!!!!!! of course she had it cut, but not before blurting out probably the meanest things she couldve said... |
 | lappy wrote on Jul 18, '06 not to mention the fact the everyone who had PLDT DSL couldn't access the mutiply sites a couple of months ago... haaayyyyy, napaka-jologs talaga, it's so sad. |
 | If you think PDLT myDSL sucks, you haven't tried SMART Bro.. The same shit, different package.. From what I heard...
I have PLDT myDSL 999 at work and it's crap! We're all victims of the so-called "TIE UP PERIOD"... Otherwise, I would have terminated it long time ago.. There should be a class-action suit against PLDT for horrible DSL service.
Have you tried calling 172 for technical help? You'd be lucky to get an answer. I guess they're flooded with complainants, they just wouldn't connect your call anymore. And if you're lucky to connect, you'd be amazed (pissed off) on how un-technical their call-reps are!.. Dumb Fu@$#ers!!!... How many times do I have to answer this question - "How many PCs are connected?"... "What is the status of the modem?".... Their proverbial solution would always be "TURN THE POWER OFF"... D'uh!!?.. We've done that several times already, that's why we're calling you, you piece of shit!..

 | PLDT's service is becoming horrible every minute! Their tech support is the worst, which is ironic to their best corporation [vomits loudly!] status! LOL |
 | one solution would be to switch to another provider (if possible.) they wouldnt care if one of their subscribers switched to the competition. But if others follow suit, then you would have your revenge. Please let us not act like sheep and go with the crowd. If your buds use myDSL should you, too?
If we help one company attain monopoly, then we should be ready to accept crappy service because there would not be any incentives to improve services because theyll just say "where would that guy go then? LOL" |
 | the only reason i use myDSL is its only one available in my area. it has NOTHING to do with acting like sheep.
we also have smart bro na rin pala starting this year, but pldt kinda improved a bit, so okay na. except when it rains.
but then i still dont have a choice anyway, so thats that. |
